Advantages of JC Jaw Crushers in Granite Crushing Applications

Granite is a rock characterized by high hardness (Mohs scale 6–7) and strong abrasiveness, as well as high compressive strength; these properties place rigorous demands on the structural integrity, wear resistance, and impact resistance of primary crushing equipment. Dahua Heavy Industry’s JC series jaw crusher—a new-generation European-style model—features a structure optimized specifically for hard rocks like granite. Widely used in the primary crushing stage of granite quarries and aggregate production lines, it is an ideal choice for granite primary crushing.
First, the machine boasts high structural strength and impact resistance, making it well-suited for the demanding conditions of hard granite processing. The JC series frame is available in both welded and modular assembled configurations, both optimized via finite element analysis to eliminate stress concentrations. Key components include a one-piece cast steel swing jaw, a heavy-duty forged eccentric shaft, and an integrated bearing housing design. This robust construction ensures strong resistance to impact loads; the frame resists deformation and cracking even under the violent impact of large granite blocks, making it suitable for continuous 24-hour mining operations. The jaw plates are made of ultra-high manganese steel, offering excellent resistance to the high abrasiveness of granite and significantly extending the service life of wear parts.
Second, the deep "V"-shaped crushing chamber accommodates large feed sizes, allowing for the direct processing of large raw granite blocks. The JC series utilizes a symmetrical V-shaped chamber with a large effective feed opening—capable of accepting feed sizes up to 1300mm. Large granite blocks extracted from the mine can be fed directly into the machine without pre-crushing, thereby simplifying the upstream process, reducing the need for auxiliary equipment, and boosting the overall production line's capacity. With a single-unit processing range of 50–2000 t/h, it is suitable for granite projects of all scales. The deep chamber design subjects the granite to repeated compression and splitting, ensuring thorough crushing and a stable output particle size.
Third, the discharge opening is easily adjustable, allowing for flexible integration into granite production line workflows. The equipment utilizes a wedge-type discharge opening adjustment mechanism; compared to traditional shim-based systems, this offers higher adjustment efficiency and allows for flexible control over granite output size. The resulting material can be fed into a cone crusher for secondary and tertiary crushing to produce high-quality construction aggregates, or processed into roadbed and sub-base stone to meet diverse downstream requirements. The equipment handles both dry and wet materials effectively, and the crushing chamber is resistant to clogging even when the granite contains soil.
Fourth, operation and maintenance costs are controllable, helping to lower the overall production costs of granite mining operations. Wear parts for the JC jaw crusher are primarily limited to the jaw plates and toggle plates; these components feature high standardization and are easy to remove and replace, allowing routine maintenance to be performed by standard on-site technicians. The machine boasts a low failure rate, minimizing downtime losses during the demanding process of crushing granite. It can be configured for either stationary production lines or mobile crushing stations, adapting to the varying site conditions found at granite mines.
In granite aggregate production lines, the JC jaw crusher serves as a reliable primary crusher, reducing large granite blocks into suitable intermediate material. This is followed by a cone crusher for secondary and tertiary crushing, ensuring the efficient and stable operation of the entire granite aggregate production line.
