10 Tips to improve the Production Capacity of Cone Crusher

With the increase of aggregate price in recent years, the market demand of artificial sand is increasing. Cone crusher, as medium and fine crushing equipment for sand production, has received feedback from many customers that even at full capacity, it cannot meet the ideal production capacity demand. 1. Keep the parameter of CSS  

In order to get stable sand and stone production capacity, good quality and required production line loading, firstly should keep the CSS parameter of cone crusher, otherwise, it is easy to increase the product granularity, and thus influence the final production capacity of the whole production line.

2. Do not feed too little materials

Feed too little raw materials cannot reduce the burden of cone crusher. On the contrary, too little raw materials will not only affect the product output, making poor grain shape, but also damage the cone crusher bearings.

3. Try to keep "full feeding" operation

If the cone crusher is "less feeding" or "full feeding" due to unstable feeding and other factors, then the products granularity and finished product rate will also fluctuate. The products of semi-cavity feeding are not ideal in gradation and lamination.

4. The feeding point should in the center of feeding hopper 

It is recommended to use vertical guide plate to make the feeding point at the center of feeding hopper. Once the feeding point is eccentric, one side of crushing cavity is full of materials while the other side has no material or less material, which will result in lower crusher throughput, increase of needle and flake products, products with large particle size.

5. Ensure even feeding

When feeding, it is necessary to avoid the situation that large grain size stone is concentrated on one side and small grain size stone is concentrated on the other side, so as to ensure even mixing of stone.

6. Accurately grasp the three upper limits of cone crusher design

There are three upper limits: upper limit of throughput capacity, upper limit of power and upper limit of crushing force.

7. Ensure operation within the upper limit of crusher design

If the cone is running beyond the upper limit of crushing force or beyond the rated power, you can: slightly increase the discharge port parameters of the closed side, and try to ensure "full" operation, or reduce the feeding rate, but this may not ensure good grain shape.

8. Monitor and try to ensure the appropriate crusher speed

If there is no proper transmission belt tension, incorrect or neglect of driver maintenance, in the work condition will appear belt slip, crusher speed drop phenomenon. At the same time, the handing capacity of cone crusher decreased sharply, electricity consumption increases, the unit energy consumption rises, and the operation cost increases.

9. Control the fine material content in the feed

Fine material in feeding: based on the experience, the fine content in the feed should not exceed 25% for secondary crushing. The content of fine material should not exceed 10% in tertiary stage.

10. The feeding height should not be too high

For small and medium cone crusher, the maximum suitable height from the feeding equipment to the feeding port is about 0.9 m. If the feeding height is too high, the stone is easy to "rush" into the crushing cavity at high speed, which will cause impact load on the crusher and crushing force or power beyond the upper limit of the design.
