Silica Crushing Production Plant Setup Cost and Process Flow

Silica is a common non-metallic mineral with high hardness and stable chemical properties. As an important industrial raw material, it is widely used in glass, ceramics, metallurgy, and other fields. After crushing and processing, silica yields silica sand and silica aggregate products of different particle sizes. These finished products can be used as the main raw material in glass production, as molding sand fillers in the foundry industry, and as wear-resistant layers in road engineering. High-purity fine-grained products can also be used in high-end fields such as photovoltaic new energy and precision ceramics, with economic added value far exceeding that of selling raw ore.
 
Silica Crushing Production Plant Setup Cost and Process Flow
 
There is no fixed price for the equipment investment in a complete silica crushing production line. Different equipment models correspond to different processing capacities, output particle sizes, and energy consumption levels. Configuration options vary greatly, ranging from small production lines with an hourly output of tens of tons to large-scale production lines with an hourly output of hundreds of tons. The total equipment price can range from tens of thousands to millions of US dollars, depending on site conditions, production capacity requirements, and finished product particle size requirements.
 
 
Large silica ore is continuously and evenly fed into a jaw crusher via a vibrating feeder from a hopper for primary crushing. The crushed material is then conveyed by a belt conveyor to a hydraulic cone crusher for secondary crushing. Through layered crushing, the material is processed to below 50mm. After secondary crushing, the material can be diverted as needed. Material requiring only coarse aggregate is directly fed to a vibrating screen for grading. Material requiring sand making is further fed to an impact crusher for fine crushing and shaping, controlling the particle size to below 5mm. All processed materials are finally fed into a multi-layer vibrating screen for multi-stage screening, separating finished products of different sizes such as 0-5mm, 5-10mm, 10-20mm, and 20-30mm. Material that does not meet the particle size requirements is returned to the corresponding crushing stage for secondary crushing.
 
1. Jaw Crusher (Coarse Crushing)
 
This equipment features a reinforced structure for high-hardness materials. Its large feed opening can easily handle large silica pieces hundreds of millimeters in diameter. The deep-cavity crushing design with no dead zones prevents material slippage and jamming. The jaw plate material is optimized for the high hardness of silica, resulting in longer wear resistance, a lower failure rate, and stable crushing of large silica pieces to a medium particle size of 100-300mm, preparing the material for subsequent processing.
 
2. Cone Crusher (Medium Crushing)
 
If the raw material has extremely high hardness or strict requirements for the finished product particle shape, a cone crusher can be used for medium crushing after coarse crushing. The cone crusher, through the principle of layered crushing, produces more uniform particle size with less over-crushing, suitable for crushing silica from 150mm to below 50mm, and applicable to medium to large-scale production lines.
 
3. Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher (Fine Crushing and Shaping)
 
This equipment utilizes the "stone-on-stone" and "stone-on-iron" crushing principles, simultaneously achieving both fine crushing and shaping effects. The produced sand particles are round and regular in shape, with a continuous and reasonable gradation, fully meeting the raw material standards for high-end glass and precision ceramics.
 
4. Vibrating Screen (Screening)
 
Equipped with a YKR circular vibrating screen, the crushed material is graded and screened out according to different particle sizes. Material that does not meet the particle size requirements is returned to the crushing stage for further processing, forming a closed-loop cycle, ultimately yielding qualified silica products of different specifications.
