The steel slag recycling process mainly includes crushing, screening, and magnetic separation. Commonly used equipment includes jaw crushers, steel slag rod mills, and magnetic separators. The specific process flow is as follows:

 

I. Process Flow

 

1. Crushing and Screening

 

The steel slag first enters a PEY hydraulic jaw crusher for coarse crushing. The PEY hydraulic jaw crusher is equipped with an overload protection device and can handle large pieces of steel slag up to 300mm, avoiding "steel jamming" malfunctions. The coarsely crushed steel slag then enters a GPY hydraulic cone crusher for secondary crushing. The discharge particle size is controlled by a PLC to achieve fine crushing down to below 50mm, increasing the metal recovery rate by 15%.

 

After crushing, the slag is sent to a screening device to separate qualified particles (5-100mm) for further processing.

 

2. Iron Removal and Grinding

 

A magnetic separator is used to extract iron concentrate with an iron content >90%. Non-magnetic particles enter a gravity separator for further separation.

 

Grinding is performed using a steel slag rod mill, which separates steel particles, iron powder, and slag through a screen cage.

 

3. Resource Utilization

 

Iron powder can be recycled into steel, and steel slag powder (specific surface area ≥450 m²/kg) can be used as an admixture in cement or concrete.

 

High-value-added products such as mineral wool and ceramic products can be produced through chemical heat recovery technology.
